The Arch of Constantine has three openings and stands on four pillars. The columns are independant and are mounted on high pedestals. It shows an abundant architectural and sculptural decoration.

The latin inscription on the face of the Arch “To the greatest Emperor Cæsar Flavius Constantine Augustus, who, by the Divinity’s inspiration, avenged the Republic of the tyrants...”

The south face of the triumphal arch had an identical structure as the north face. We enjoy however the perspective of the Colosseum. In the enlarged version, notice the detail of sculptures in the arcades of the second and third levels of the Colosseum.
